Dow Haltermann Custom Processing offers quaternization capabilities at our glass-lined and chloride-resistant steel reactors in Billingham and Seal Sands sites in the U.K., as well as some limited capabilities in Freeport, Texas. Unlike many companies who handle only benzyl chloride, we have the capability and expertise to also make surfactants using difficult-to-handle raw materials such as methyl chloride, methyl bromide and epichlorohydrin. These surfactants are commonly used in personal-care or household cleaning products.

In fact, Dow Haltermann’s ability to economically handle bulk quantities of methyl chloride, dimethyl sulphate and epichlorohydrin differentiates us within the custom processing industry. And because we are a Dow business, we have advantaged access to in-house supplies of methyl chloride and epichlorohydrin, along with EH&S expertise that assures that your process is handled safely and cost-efficiently.
