One evidently is its toxicity and environmental profile. ESTASOL™ HP Oxygenated Solvents are safe, non flammable and a ready biodegradable solvent. Due to its slow evaporation rate, this also allows the agrochemical formulation to give a longer time of application instead of evaporating quickly particularly in hot countries.

Some formulations using ESTASOL™ are already EPA registered. This is usually a lengthy process but the chances to get a product approved containing Estasol is relatively high.
